If any of u remember the helios site, well it put a trojan on my comp. I have Norton 2003 but, it (Backdoor.Helios) imbebded itself in my windows svchost.exe file. It's a generic host process. I can't delete cause it's a windows system file, and access is denied. And it can't be repaired. Any ideas?

If useing a an OS that has a "back up" files system....
1.turn off BACK UP system. 2.Run Norton (or whatever you have for anti-virus) 3.Reboot. 4.Pray-hope-wish.
The above not working:
Open a folder on another drive (or flopply) and COPY all your browser favorites to it...along with any SAVED games or MP3,s,DVD's,VCD,s (anything you cant reinstal) and REFORMAT the drive (un-connect other drives first).....then re-instal you OS.

As far as i know nothing..its a trojan, which means, it either sends out info on my comp, or opens security loopholes, or allows remote access.....but, since nonoe of htose things have happened, and for the last few months nothing has come up about it...im not to worried..lol thanks for the concern though

ANother problem. I cnat access the internet. I can for a few minutes, but then i have to shut down windows, because everything that tries to access the internet locks up. it may be a problem with Zonealarm. I unistalled, and will see. Help would be appreciated. Update: I reinstalled windows, and unistalled Zonealarm. I continue to have problems. As i write this, error messages are popping up. I just ran Norton WinDocter, and it found 33 problems in 5 catergories. I (think) I fixed them. We'll see. I'll email Micorsoft, but they have never been much help in the past.

Another thing too do is run SPYBOT after each download and install (along with your AV).
If you have never run/used SPYBOT befor...you will find that it detects a "HOTKEYS HOOK DLL/Key Logger" program that is part of all programs made by "Z".
This is only part of "Z's" program and is used to "HOOK" up to VC and make the keys work as they need in order to function.
No harm to leave them....but I always DELEAT them after closeing VC myself.
SPYBOT is a free d/l and is probly 1000000% better than any pay-to-use program made/sold.
If you don't have this program just type SPYBOT into any window.....I d/l mine from COLLA.
